Pharamond ‎(Faramund)‎ ‎(c. 370 - c. 427)‎ wordt door sommigen beschouwd als de eerste koning van de Salische Franken, hoewel hij waarschijnlijk eerder een legendarische dan een historische figuur is geweest. Hij zou een zoon zijn geweest van Marcomer en Frotmund.

‎[bewerk]‎ Geschiedenis

Omstreeks 420 leidde Pharamond zijn volk naar het westen. De Salische Franken staken de Rijn over en vestigden zich in Noord-GalliÃ«, dat enige tijd daarvoor door het Romeinse leger was verlaten. De Romeinen sloten met de nieuwkomers een verdrag. In ruil voor een vestigingsgebied namen de Franken als verplichting de verdediging van de Rijngrens op zich. Pharamond werd opgevolgd door zijn zoon Clodio of Chlodian VI. Zijn vrouw was Argotta, dochter van Genobaud, die weer een zoon zou zijn van de legendarische aanvoerder Dagobert ‎(gestorven rond 389)‎.

Volgens bepaalde documenten zou hij een afstammeling zijn van Eurgen en Aminadab, die op hun beurt afstammelingen zouden zijn van Jezus Christus en Jozef van Arimatea.
